Tesoro Refinery Contact for employment HELP

sawtooth4x4

Totally Awesome
Do any of you in Salt Lake City have any contacts with someone who works at the Tesoro Refinery?

I'm trying to apply there and would like to contact someone about the position I'm looking at.

I'm a piping designer looking at a job there.

Help a brother out.

All of the postings are apply online only. They don't want calls or emails. If you are interested apply online. PM me your name and I will chat with HR and make sure they recieved your info. It is a fairly annonomous proccess until you get through the testing phase and into the interview phase.

I have had a more than qualified buddy go through stage, after stage of testing there, and still not get a job.....he would also like to get a job there

Unfortunately, they do have SEVERAL phases of tests and interviews. They get a TON of applicants, literally hundreds, so the do what they can to sort through them. PM me you name and contact info and I will chat with the HR guy and make sure your stuff is at least seen. I don't work at the refinery, but I know lots of guys there and can at least make sure you get looked at if you are qualified. I have been told that everyone that meets the min requirements at least gets a chance to test in phase 1 of the process. Unfortunately if someone, like many people I know, tests poorly, it hurts their chances of moving into a more personal phase where they can excel in one on one conversation. Just because someone tests poorly isn't a knock on them or their abilities, some people just don't handle tests well and their brains shut down. But that is the method they use to sort through the hundreds of applicants for the few positions they have open up.

Thanks

I sent you some PM's

I'm a piping designer and that is the job i applied to. i also do a bit of part time project management.

I've taken a test at the Conoco Refinery in Billings, MT. They said I passed it really well. But I never got pass the first interview.
