The Commando in Moab

Well I managed to get the Commando finished far enough to take it to Moab for the family Moab safari. We headed out early Thursday morning and made it down without too many issues. The first trail we ran Thursday afternoon was Poison Spider which I felt would be a good shakedown run before I let my nephews drive the beast. It did exceptionally well on every obstacle and walked them all without needing the lockers. On Friday we ran Seven Mile rim and again it worked great. My brother wouldn't let my nephew drive it down Wipe Out hill so my son and I drove our jeeps down. The rest of the gang chickened out so my son and I went back up with no problem. We then ran Hell's Revenge for the afternoon trip and that also went very well. After a bit of a late start on Saturday morning we ran Top Of the World for a nice scenic ride and was surprised how much rougher the trail was. We had great weather, and the Commando performed great. It rides great down the road and does great off road. Here are some shots.

The Commando looks great Dave, seems like it's working very well. I'm impressed with the wheel travel! I'm sure the wheelbase was nice to have down there.

Thanks, The extra length does help and the flexy suspension works better than I could have hoped for. I did drag the back end a bit on the big ledges but the skid plates and rear bumper took it all it in stride. The extra weight in the back did sag my rear 2" TJ springs so I will need to find some longer springs which will help the dragging. Anyone need some brand new 2" springs ?

I first clicked on this thread thinking that you caught the dude that's breaking into cabins in MOAB

I was going to name this post "Going Commando in Moab" but my kids told me that wasn't a good idea. In fact my wife bought bumper stickers that said that and she was embarrased when the kids explained it to her.
