I don't understand why we aren't running CNG or better yet, refining it to LNG. This stuff is locally produced, is way cleaner to burn, is well over 100 octane and runs in the cars we all drive right now. It just pisses me off to think that in SLC and Utah county we just need 50 to 100 filling stations and a good share of the population could drive everywhere they go on a normal basis. Lots of people already have commuter cars, why is it so hard to imagine those cars running on CNG or LNG.
There are several kits to inject CNG with Diesel and get in the 30 mpg range. There is no reasonable explanation to why we haven't switched yet, other than politics.
The LNG is really where it's at. The tanks are comparable to gasoline.
