The truck drove great! But the theme of the trip was just as Matt said......getting passed by semis....lol

I sure wish it had more power. It held 40 on all the steepest hills but when your used to not dropping below 65....it kind of sucks.

It was nice going between trails tho. It is actually pretty manuverable. Mileage sucked around town but I got 9 on the way home which I was happy with.

My wife was happy with the comfort and the ride of the truck. Basically, if it had another 200 ponies and 300 torque.....I think it would be the perfect setup. Time to start saving my pennies for a chip.

The tent trailer was fine....while pulling.

Monday was rough on it tho. My wife decided to stay behind with the baby since it was pretty windy. Well, the wind gusted so bad that it picked the tent trailer up and pushed it about 8 feet til it hit a BBQ. Then the wind started tearing the canvas off, all while they were inside.

We were on hells revenge with plans to run pritchett after. I decided to check on them after Hells and Im glad I did. We packed up everything with the help of my friends and went and got a hotel for the last night there. Needless so say my wife was pretty shook up so the Hotel was nice for her....and oh ya...we still went to Pritchett afterwards...lol

All in all it was a great trip! No problems with the tow rig, no problems with the Scout. Although my new fenders and new paint was a complete waste of time! Hellderado was not good to me

Bummer about the trailer and real good you stopped by on the way to Prichett. 40 mph going up over Soldier's Summit is respectable with that load. I remember being down to 20 pulling our cruiser boat to Powell with a Suburban. How fast does it do on the flats?

I caught up with Cheston just past the top of Soldier's Summit on his way to Moab - it was like Sasquatch stepped out of the trees on a dark night and snarled at you! Real impressive going down the road. I followed his rig all the way to Green River, and it towed at 65 most of the way. The tent trailer looked sorta tiny behind the rest of the caravan.

Cheston - sorry I couldn't catch up with you in Moab. I got drafted to be a gunner on Steel Bender on Big Saturday. The Scout did great. Bec went to the hospital in Moab twice with labor contractions, so some of the trail days got messed up.

No worries Russ! Glad to see you the little bit I did.

We really need to get a real camper to pull behind this beast. Not only for more comfort but for more room to haul junk. We are used to a full size bed with a shell packed to the max. We packed the tent trailer and the back seat but still could have used some more room. Camper would be ideal and hopefully it wont fly away in the wind. I am going to start saving my pennies

Got room to haul a fifth wheel ?

Thats my issue with doing one of these my camper is a 32ft fifth wheel / land yacht course the truck would then need to be bigger to tow it.

Now I'm glad I bowed out Sunday! A small wind on those tent trailers and it seems like it's going to lift off, not sure what I would do if I were in it and it happend. Naw, I know... I'd burn it to the ground first chance I got ;)

Watch CraigsList.... I bought my Class A motorhome on there for like $6500. Very clean, 94, 34'. Then I just toss my Jeep on the trailer behind it. When we first got it and sold our tent trailer, we were afraid we made the wrong choice. But after our first trip in it, we knew we made the right choice. Evertyhing was so much nicer. From driving it (instead of the Jeep), sleeping, showering, etc. The wife actually enjoys going places now - I thought it was 'me' before ;)

Anyway, saw the rig in person, too. Damn nice!!!! Pictures really didn't do it justice!
