The pix of project hero comissioned by Andy and the six states crew when Brent was still with them. It is now running and under its own power....

It has Dana 44s front and rear 35" X some unholy width swampers....with raised gas tank, stripped interior and many many more mods to come...

I changed my axle mounts to 'mirror' the control arm angles of a long arm.........It rides very similar, if not the same, and I think it'll flex better than it did before the bracket mods. I've already torn a brake line apart and moved to something 6" longer. If it flexes more, I'm strapping it.

Now an unstrapped long arm will outflex it, but then I think you've hit the point of 'overflexing'.......

Pics....{they're kind of dark, sorry}

With that angle, It rides very similar to my wife's grand (ZJ) with a little more bounce out of the rear and you can tell I've got more tire..............I do get a little more brake dive, but it's not bad enough to cut everything apart again.

Props to Rocklogic for the control arms and for consulting on the idea.

My constant rant about my long arms is the impact to my breakover angle. I usually hit my arms on every large ledge in Moab....and many times it impedes my ability to make the obstacle. Other than that they're great....cool flex (spence knows about my flex ;) ) and the highway ride is great to and from the mall :D

That's what I don't like about the longs (the dragging)......the control arm angle is what I was after........now I've got that and I can still pound the sh!t out of my stock sheetemetal brackets (they may need some upgrading, but I'll keep an eye on them for a while) while I have similar control arm angles.

mike has flex, that is for sure!!

I understand your idea for correcting the angles. I take it that there is a challenge on....when and where is what I want to know...andy is going to moab for RCAA to spectate and I am in moab weekend after next....I don't wanna miss nothing!!

We just got talking about it one day at Six States and he wanted to see which was 'cooler'.......(I don't think he's been in 4-Low for 2 years, has he?)........I'm in, but I'm not available for Memorial day weekend, but sometime after that? His needs a shakedown run or two and mine could use one more.

I don't think we know when or where, but something kind of close would be ideal, IMHO. (read----I'm broke and my wife just got the VISA bill...........I'm fawwwwwccced...)

The only thing that is missing that provides structure is the rear hatch and I"m not sure that he cares if the body gets a bit tweaked.

Lookin good.

I understand the plan to be a full internal roll cage for the family wheeling outings so count on that structural integrity...

The best part is that it was free! I plan full thrashing this rig, that includes running in to other peoples rigs!:D So if you see me coming you better run.:D I finally found the problem, it was a rotted hose in the tank, now replaced. Except the exhaust fell off yesterday after running over a curb at 40:D . I'll let you all know when and where I'm going to break it in.

I think you should 'try' to keep it in one piece until your Bronco is completed, and then let whatever happen to it........just my opinion.........when was the last time you pulled a lever into 4Low on a trail?
