Thanks!
Oh, last but not least I ordered all the parts for a front “609” to build. After debating front axle stuff and considering another CRD I finally landed on building a LP fabricated 9” housing from Trail Gear with my 99-04 Super Duty C’s and knuckles. It’ll be way easier to mount the LCA’s and the steering to and being able to slide the fabricated center section over rocks is neat too. I’m super excited about the decision and I’m glad to make changes like this late in the game- if they’re the right call.

Love the progress, and of course you have to see the CRD in place. Is the radiator going to be in front of the motor?

Rear radiator for sure. I wish I could make it work for the front but it's just not in the cards. Rear is good too because it'll help me get more weight back and low.

The little time I spent on it today was doing sucky stuff- changing things. Now that I got the rear axle at least close to where I want it I realized the rear lower links were going to be a pain to get around the boat side tubes. Well I don’t want to move the link crossmember back since it also holds up the atlas and that mount is done so I had to change something else. The little “triangle” the upper link goes through is also a little smaller than I initially planned so that was 2 reasons to change it. It sucks changing stuff that’s been done for a long time instead of moving forward but hey it’s better than always hating it and wishing I would’ve changed it. I still have to add the tubes that go to the lower B-pillar, they’ll be quite a bit longer now. Pictures in before/after format. If you look close you can see a gray sharpie mark where I’d like the lower link to connect to the crossmember. You can see how it wouldn’t work with the previous way the boat side tubes were.

I ordered winches last night. I've never had a winch but I quickly decided Warn was the move. I was just going to bite the bullet and pay full price before realizing I know people that are sponsored by them. So I got an email address from a friend and sent off my credentials or whatever. I got an (all too familiar) email back and it started with "Warn Industries would love to support every enthusiast but unfortunately..." so I almost deleted it before even reading on  but alas, I endured to the part where it said "but we will offer you a deep discount." Thank goodness for patience because I'm saving $800!
Onto the tech part, I'm going with an Axon 55-S (S for synthetic) and a 35-S. Yes, they're UTV winches and yes that was on purpose. I need at least a 5k on the front to meet WERock rules and it should be perfect for using as a suck down. The rear winch is just for a suck down as well so 3500 lb capacity will be great. I like how cool looking and compact they are plus the fact they weigh 29 and 27lbs is definitely a perk!

I don't actually know what I'm doing. I just ask my heterosexual-ish life partner @skippy what to get and then he orders it for me. Well, everything besides wheels...

I heart you, Ryan.
