well finally got tired of worrying about breaking my 3/4tons, so i finally nabbed a front 60 and an upgradeable rear 60! plus i was sick of riding my clutch up every obstacle and working the crud out of my 4cylinder. so heres the new plans:
Front dodge dana 60, 5.86 gears, durasolid full spool, high steer, spring eliminators, behind axle steering, btf diff cover, weld tubes to axle. need to widen out my front spring hangers and shackle hangers so the leafs are flared out from the spring perches on the axle being round 1" wider than a stock jeep mount.
rear axle is a 96 dodge 2500 60, welded rear carrier, 5.86 gears, hope to upgrade to 35 spline shafts and a durasolid sool, custom rear disc brakes, which by the way sucks trying to get a chevy rotor to "bolt up" to a dodge hub. took forever at autzone to find a stud that locked the two togther! tryed welding the original studs to the rotor but that didnt work. had to also hack up a ballistic fab bracket to fit on the axle. going to also make a new high clearence anti-wrap, last one got drug on everything.
then i'm doing the NP231-D300 doubler! cant wait for this! already got my case plus some new gears for it! after everything is said and done my crawl ration will be right round 160 to 1! shouldnt have a problem with gearing now plus front digs are going to be bad az in my mind.
but anywho, heres some pics of where its at.
ignore the welds, they are not cosmetically pleasing but are burned in deep! plus ya cant see them with everything on.
