What a cop out by this kids parents...

"In an interview done earlier this year with George Starks, he said had he known the history of the fraternity, he never would have allowed his son to pledge"

Heaven forbid he have to spend a bit of time investigating the place he is sending off his kid too. This was off campus and really has little to do with USU, yet they should be responsible. When I was a college student the last thing I would ever want is the University over-shadowing my endeavors off campus, absolutely BS.

I can't believe how quick people are to sue. There son was an adult, an adult capable of theoretically making his own decisions. Its a very sad deal and I don't wish that on anyone... but writing off your responsibility and at the same time collecting a pile of cash... weak.

I have to ggree, bad decisions were made yes, but a lawsuit against USU is a stretch.

I hate that there is limited personal responsibility in anything anymore. It always someone elses fault, not I made a bad decision.

Ridiculous...

I enjoy the comments being made...

Sample:
I was cut off the other day on the freeway so I'm gonna sue the State of Utah for the emotional distress I suffered. The State of Utah surely should have warned me about the possibility of getting cut off while driving, but they didn't so I'm holding them accountable for that.

I saw that today and it really pissed me off. It is bad enough to go after the university at any point for the actions of their son. But, up here at USU we have been forced into a ton of budget cuts and funding is already tight with lots of cuts being made. All these parents are accomplishing is ruining other peoples futures by adding to the financial stress of the university who knows how many professors could have been hired with the money that will likely go to these parents.

What happened was tragic, but it has nothing to do with the university.
