No...I think I am just too tired to be posting anything on the net. I wasn't offended or did I mean to make it sound like I took it personaly.

It came out harsher then I intended.

I'm sure you know, you'll never hear that kind of crap here. If that's the way it was, most of us wouldn't be here. You know, the Jeep vs Toy, vs Dodge, vs Chevy thing.

Hey man, you left out Rovers!

So is that what the little pink gear is next to everyones name. Forgive me, I've been out of town for a few months. I just thought a whole lot of you finally came out of the closet, and formed a gay mechanics club or something.

Just kidding, my donation is going in right now.

I know that Greg held off as long as he could financially on even accepting payments at all. I know there have been many times in the past where people wanted to donate and Greg didn't want to accept anything. Me personally, I dont care if you donate or not. The way I see it is the money will be coming back to the users in one form or another, giveaways, better site features, nicer viewing experience, etc (the list can go on and on). There are no other sites I pay for (the only other one I frequent that takes payment is PBB), the reason I choose not to support them is because they are not local and if that site was gone tomorrow I would never miss it, RME is where its at. I look no differently at those who pay and those who dont, everyone has their reasoning for paying or not paying and thats a decision they make on their own. I hope nobody ever feels that a moderator or admin has treated them in a condescending manor simply cause they dont support the board.

i dont care if a member pays or not. i made the choice to pay and i feel alot better about what i do on this board. it is a public forum and i think it should stay a public forum. if you want to pay, great, pay then. if you dont want to pay, then dont pay.

but calling out those who choose not to pay is a bad idea, if you have friends on the board who you want to poke fun at for not having a gear, do it in private(PM) not in an open forum where you are generalizing all people with out a gear as deadbeats and freeloaders.

i dont know if that was your intention or not, but that is how i read it.

just my $0.02

I hope nobody felt that I felt this way. :D I agree with you though as far as getting what you pay for. If you are going to charge money the best way to get more paying members is to keep them happy with what they are getting for their money. Vendor give a ways and such are great.

Agreed 100%. You know I just like to stir the pot, which I guess I've really done. That was not my intention. BUT, if you've got 1000 posts, and cant fork over the $20, somethings wrong here. All I'm saying is a fellow wheeler asked (which takes some nads) for help.

Like Super said, I could care less, but I was shocked to see some of the names (I was bored, and never really looked before). It's not like if you dont pay, you don't have valuable input right?

Oh, unless you're Shawn... :D

so what you are saying is some one with 1000 posts must have nothing better to do than sit on the computer all day because they dont need to go to work, because they must be independantly welthy, and should have no problem forking over $20.00

what does post count have to do with donating or not?
with 1000+ posts they must be bringing something to the board(with the exeption of SHAWN) :D

I skimmed through most of the posts so I'm not sure as to what has been covered.

I knew that sooner or later this subject would come up. RME will never require payment for basic usage of this bulletin board. All of the donations are just that... donations. These donations pay for the board and keep it running with minimal advertisements and such to pay for the costs of hosting a large site.

It is a way for RME to adapt to it's growing expenses, and we along with everybody else who frequent this site are very grateful for any and all donations we have received from supporting members. I consider the graphic work and programming that I put into this forum my donation to RME, and I love doing it. :)

Now... We will not tolerate bashing or harassing of any members who are not supporting members. This (privately owned) forum is open for public knowledge and public use. I consider this place a great resource as I would any library of information.

The only discrimination between the levels of membership are the benefits you recieve from supporting RME. Such as the monthly drawings, email accounts, and more services we plan to provide in the future. All of which I find exciting and we Admins / Mods are more than happy to provide.

:)

this challange could go to anyone who benifits from RME.
all that being said, this place could not work as well as it does without all the folks who contribute in many different ways.
but for me its well worth it.

 I am a moron. I thought you were calling out those of us who spend hours a day on here and never contribute any pics of our projects/rigs and equipment. You know. "GEAR" Here is my gear-actually the wife's, but I'm doing all the work. Now you see why I am bashful about showing my gear.
