Asking for support because the owner of the site needs it is very very different then making all the users feel guilty because they haven't paid up.
To be honest I saw a the thread when RME first went to having paid members and if I would have had the money then I would have given it.
But when I put on a guilt trip because I haven't...it makes me want to go the other way...
I wanted to reply to this thread and add my own opinion, since I didn't get the chance before. Just because somebody makes you feel guilty about donating shouldn't be a reason not to do so. It makes me feel bad to think that's the way it is.
I appreciate all who have donated, as well as those who have considered it. One thing I'd like to point out it that all the money made from you members who donate is that it is all going BACK into RME for YOUR benefit. The giveaways are the most noticable return, but helping finance RME's growth is number one on my list. If you think the money you're giving me is lining my pockets, you're way off. The money is being well spent.
As Caleb mentioned, I have long put off the idea of asking for donations. I don't like doing it, I'm not good at asking for money and if I could get the same results without asking for your help, I would do it first. To me, it feels like begging. Guess it's my lame pride...
Something else I'd like to mention, if you've made money from buying & selling parts on RME and you want to say 'thanks' for us providing a place for you to do so, say it with a donation! Like I said, the money goes to improving the place, so it's a worthwhile cause for all!
That's about all I have. Thanks for supporting RME, those who have said it with an Andrew Jackson and those who just say it!
