My 11 yr old wanted to do some fly fishing so here is his first brown. I have been working with him on being able to toss the line where he wants it and the anatomy of a river. It was time to but those lessons to the test.

It was a really healthy fish. He lost one other because he was afraid to get hooked.

My daughter loves to fish too. She came with us as well but she hooked only one. She hates being beat by boys at anything especially her little brother who really never fly fished before.

That's awesome! I do a lot of fly fishing and tying. It is just about to be my favorite time of the year. Spawning season on the Logan River!

Cool that your kids are into it. My kids haven't gotten the itch yet. Their mom hates all things fish. That must be one of the reasons why I'm no longer married.

I need to come fishing with you sometime. I've got the equipment with zero skill.

When ever you are ready. We can meet in Midway. My friend who I fish with owns 9 acres on the Middle-Provo. It is perfect because it is too far to walk either up or down from where public access is and I have a key to the gate.

That is too cool. I used to fly fish a lot. Been to the Madison and Yellowstone a lot, and the Green below Flaming Gorge. Very cool that your son has caught the bug. I might have to break my antique gear out one of these days and try it again.

I have been out a few times this week on the middle Provo ( don't let my employers know) and its been good fishing. I have been chucking streamers and have had 3 great days of fishing. rholbrook if your looking for a fly rod for your son let me know I have about 15 different fly rods in a ton of lengths and weights.
