Tire Chains

Anyone know a good place to get tire chains? I need a set for my truck. 265/70R17 is the tire size. I'm hoping to get them locally, since I need them this weekend.

You can buy the middle sections and bulk chain at Cal Ranch for real cheap. Its been a few years, but I think I made mine for about $15.

Is it a kit or something that they sell? or just something you were able to toss together? Very interested in hearing more about this.

They just sell the section that goes across the tire, then you have to go find the rest; chain and some clasps. The middle section has a hook on the end and you stick it in the link of the chain that goes around the tire and pound the hook closed with a hammer. You can't even tell they're not store bought.

Maybe they were $25. I can't remember exactly, but I know they weren't more than $30.

For 1, 2, or 4?

No stock on chains for 265/70/17.. :(

I got 2 sets this morning from 4WP that should work for 265/70/17. The actual size wasn't listed, but sizes slightly smaller and slightly larger were both listed, so they should be fine. I'll try one on before I head out this weekend.

Well originally it was my scheduled day off this week, since we work saturdays, but, since I have lost my voice with a bad sore throat, I am out anyways.

We should have them in stock, I just put the tire chain display together yesterday.

Call and talk to Ryan, he is the assistant manager and knows a lot more than me.
