Well I put a whole in my sidewall this weekend:-\ and I need to see if there is anybody that knows of a tire shop that does vulcanizing? Any info would be great!

Thanks,
Calvin

Check with Jacks Tire & Oil, tell them it's for off road use only... they probably won't touch it if it's for street use. Sidewall damage = junk tire, especially for street use.

at the dirt riot in moab my gf was talking to some guys that tore a creppy crawler.. they said they take them to a place to deals with tractor tires.. and they have never had an issue driving/ racing on a repaired tire

This post is good, as a TON of RME guys need this service... or may need this at some unfortunate time!!!! I have not had luck at Jacks tire n Oil in the vulcanizing dept, but they will boot a big tire & supply tubes with the correct valve stems for ya (most of us can already do that though).

Same here Jinxspot. I took my tire to Jacks about 3 years ago and they wouldn't vulcanize it even when I told them it was off-road only... they decided to keep the plugs I had in it and added a boot patch. Which worked but I ended up buying a new tire for peace of mind.

It would still be worth a shot to ask them to do it. I might not have known the secret handshake. It would be great to have a good source to go to.

Interesting, I worked at Jacks many years ago and they would do it then... but it HAD to be off-road only, equipment tires, etc. They probably changed their policy.

I bought a cold vulcanizing patch and activator glue stuff a few years back from Gayltons.... Seemed to work well enough.... You could ask zukijames, he ran that tire
I have another patch if ya wanna try it

That was a bummer but it was fun wheeling with you. Hope you can find a place that will fix it. You did amazing well with the spare at street pressure. I'll bet the ride on the county road was brutal. Get it fixed and lets go again.

Thanks, it was fun wheeling with you guys too. Your buggy does very well. I like it. That road beat the living crap out of my and my rig. I bet every bolt is loose! Lol
Chad you're right I still can't see straight! Haha!

I was just at the Jacks tire and oil in orem 2 weeks ago for the same thing and they said they would do it.

Wonder if that's the same Travis I used to work with, at the Orem store!

Travis has worked there since high school so it most likely is. He is a fellow offroad enthusiast and a great guy.
