Where are you guy's buying your tires? I was stunned to hear that a set of 33X12.5X15's BFG KM2's were going to cost me a cool grand at both Discount Tire and Costco. $218.00 + $15.00 M&B + all the other crap fees.

That's expensive for some 33's....

I too am not stoked about the prices of 33" tires these days. Are you opposed to retreaded tires? Check out Treadwright. I'm going for a set of 285/75-16 Gaurdogs. I'd love another set of 255/85's, but these Treadwrights are getting great reviews, and the prices are far better than $1k for a set of tires.

285/75-16 D Rated - $117.32 per tire with Kedge grip - Previous thread on Treadwrights

I have seen those retreaded tires before, I had to do a double take, because the ones I saw said BFGoodrich on the sidewall, but the tread was MTR. Then I noticed they were retreads. Still fooled me, I wondered how well they would work offroad?

I bought four 33X10.5 15 KM2 about a year and a half ago from Discount because they had them in stock.
They were $180 ea so $730 for 4 and $45 taxes and fees.
It was cheaper than Costco by $15 a tire.
Tire Rack has them now for $179 but the 33X12.5 jumps to $199

the only thing I don't like about the retreads is that the tread doesn't extend to the sidewall as much as I like. I use my sidewalls a LOT.

Jardine (a fellow RME member) works at the Discount Tire in Lindon. He beat tirerack's price for me, and then knocked some more off just cuz I'm an RME member. Definitely hit him up. I won't post how cheap my KM2s were, but let's just say they were cheaper than I could have gotten anywhere. They still cost a lot of money for a 33" tire, but he hooked me up.

I would do the 10.5, I'll check out the rack.

So far I have been lucky with 33's and finding good used sets with 60% or better tread in the $350-400 range. I may consider retreads in the future though.

Back when i had my XJ and visited the Jeep forums there was a lot of people who ran treadwrights and loved them. I will be buying a set this summer when im due for tires you just cant beat the price and they have great reviews. here is a vid i watched a while back when reading on them. Moabjeeper.com did the testing on the guard dog and here is their review on them.

What about the 10.5's

I can go $170 on the 10.5's. But looks like (at least through my main tire dist) they are harder to come by. Might be a week or three wait.
But if you want to come to logan, I'll mount and balance anything for you for free.
