Hey all im currently running 295/75 on my 96 psd,im thinking of dropping down to the stock 235/85 for a little more rpm while towing. What are your thoughts?
I'm running 35'' KM2's on my '07 duramax w/ stock suspension, no rubbing. With tow/haul mode it always keeps my RPMs in the sweetspot. I have no complaints.
As to the original question, if you're out of the RPM range then any vehicle will tow like crap. You either need to regear or get new tires, tires are probably cheaper. How many miles are on your truck, your engine may just be tired too so no matter if you're in the RPM range or not, you may just not have that oomph.
I have 285/75/16 on my 1996 7.3 4.10 gears. I have never had stock sized tires on it. I like the slightly taller tire to drop the rpm. Has your truck had any performance mods done?
I guess what Im asking is does anyone have experience with both tire sizes and what are.your thoughts. The truck is moded and I love it my only complaint is that my dads truck will pull alot of hills in overdrive when mine kicks down to third,he has stock tires
