Toyota 4x2 to 4x4 swap

I am thinking about picking up a 2002 toyota tacoma double cab, the only problem is its a 4x2. What all would I need to do a 4x4 swap besides a solid front axle, tcase and driveline mods? How hard is it to do? And about how much do you think it will cost for parts? I'll be doing the work myself. I am thinking about doing this because I can get the truck for so cheap.

To swap it to the IFS 4x4 version you would need the spindles, axles, front diff, tranny, T-case, any of the skids unless going aftermarket and front driveline with shortening the rear driveline. If you can find a wrecked Taco or parts from someone that swapped axles and find the tranny/t-case separate then you would be set. I would say 800.00 - 1,200.00 for the parts that I've seen for sale. To do a solid axle you would just need a kit like Trailgears, the axle, T-case/tranny and a new driveline. Probably around 2,500 - 3,000 on up depending what you want to do with the axle or leaving it stock.
