toyota 5 speed

stupid questiuon but i have heard both answers and just want to clarify. does an 89 toyota 5 speed 4x4 take 90w or atf. and the same for the t case. i smoked a 5 speed and was told it was because i had 90w in it.

you would need to check the manual for the correct weight but a google search says 80W-90 is the correct viscosity

if it's a pickup/4runner 4cylwith the original tranny (w56), it takes 80w-90, just like the t-case and the diffs. It's the steering that takes ATF on these trucks.
