Toyota Axles and TSL tires

I want to build a toyota for more extreme wheeling than what I use my current truck for but don't know how big of tires I could run with the stock toyota axles. I will put lockers in the front and rear. Also how many miles can you get out of a set of TSL radials?

well, if you are going to be running the stck birfs I donthtink I would go about a 35-36...if you are gonna run an aftermarket (longs, smurfs, etc) then guys regularly run 37-38s on them...driven daily I wouldn;t expect more than 20K out of a set of TSLs...and maybe even as low as 15K...TSLs are not a street friendly tire, they wear very quickly...

If you want a good inbetween tire... go BFG muds. I have no real problem with my longfeilded toy front axle. The rear on most rigs rarely breaks. It's all about the birf.... Oh and plan spacers in the front and the wider IFS rear.

well don't run radials the side walls suck and they ware out fast! Get some TSL or SX's, I'm runing 38 SX's on my toy with longfilds and all I have broke was my rear 529's once!! OOh I beat the piss out of my truck also :p But if you drive on the street alot get some 37 mtr's or bfg mudd's!!

I was also thinking about putting some 33 inch mud tires on my newer Toyota. Does the BFG mud km's work good in the snow? I have 33 inch BFG A/T KO's on now and they are good in everything but snow.

Well the A/T's will do good on ice but they do suck in deep snow!! The mud's do good in the snow I think they do better than swampers in the snow! :)
