Do 4x2 Toyota truck utilize the same frame as their 4x4 counterparts? I found a wrecked 4x2 Tacoma... So i'm curious if the 4x2's will broaden my search.

As long as it is the prerunner. If its the low rider 2wheel and I am not sure about that one.

X2 to what Lewis said. Check to see it the axles have five or six lugs. The six lugs will be the same frame as the 4x4 also know as the prerunner.

I think the 4x2 frames are very similar. I have heard that some guys who build alot of the older minitrucks would rather do a sas on a 4x2 and put a tcase in rather than a 4x4, but I don't remember why.

i agree on that one. my truck used to be a 2 wheel drive low rider style. it is very similiar to the other frames. i'd say it is most alike to the 1st gen 4 runners but that is the only one's i have looked closely at. is that helps you at all.
