I picked up a heavy duty track bar mounting bracket for the axle my son and I are building and noticed that the hole that is drilled in it is larger than the bolt that goes through it would require. This allows slop in a bolt that I think you would not want slop in. I looked at two stock axle brackets and they are oversized too. Why would they drill the hole oversized ? Would it make sense to weld the holes up and re-drill them with a tighter fitting hole ?
