put them in the open section so they are even across from eachother.

then spin the axle shaft to spin the carrier to put them in place and slide the pin through.

If it absolutely will not go in, pull out the clutch packs to make sure they are all seated right. Also, are you trying to get the small spiders with the shims in at the same time? Don't. Did you soak the clutch pads in gear oil before install? Do, and make sure you have the main shim (thick/smooth) in the clutch pack facing the back of the large spiders. I usually put a large c-clamp on the small spiders to hold in place, not too tight or it will make the clutches lock up. Then roll them in with the axle shaft, as another person holds the other axle shaft stationary. After the small spiders are in place, I use bolts and nuts (1/2" or 9/16") with washers to suck the large spiders to each side, compressing the clutch packs. With this done you can easily slide the small spider's shims in place, and remove the bolts and washers. Put your center pin back in, if not c-clip, and your ready to put the ring gear back on.

ok.. heres what is going on... I tried to get the small spider gears in.. but the washer -spacer wont go in with the spiders..
all the clutch packs are seated.. and the thick shim is next to the axle spider side.. as I put in the spiders.. I used the pin to get them to be across from each other.. the spiders still hit the carrier and the washer -shim gets stuck and wont let the spider slide in.. I had to leave the washer-shim out to get it together so I can go to work.. its in and working .. I will have to put the washer-shim in when I get new ones they got mangled in the process..

thanks for all the help

where can you get the trac lok clutch kit and how much does it cost ?
6-states, Randy's R&P, etc. I think the price I charged on the clutch and spider kit was only $30-$40 cheaper than selling the whole new T/L at ~$185.00
