No offense personally, but this is one of the issues I have with people playing through. On a busy trail day with many groups on a trail, you inevitably end up waiting for the group that just passed you as they wait behind the group that was ahead of you. At some point it becomes akin to the idiot weaving in and out of traffic on the freeway to get two cars ahead of you. Better to have a little patience and enjoy the ride!

Just to set your mind at ease, I agree totally. We waited for the group in front for about 15 minutes then turned around and went back out. No harm, no foul. I'd bet Walker and crew waited another hour for that group.

Yes Just remember a bad day jeepen is better than a good day at work.
Relax and have fun.(Thats what were there for)
Remember what goes around comes around.
be frendly on the trail,
help those that need help (on the trail) and help will find you.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Sounds like a bunch of golfers to me. On the golf course I always watch the guys behind me to make sure he isn't waiting. And I make sure that I can always see the guys in front of us. If there is no one in front, and the guy to the rear is pushing us, let him play through. It should be that simple. No one has ever had to ask to play through, but I have offered several times.

I agree of course with being cordial, polite, and enjoying the day no matter what happens.
Getting there early may not be an option. I mean I have a wife that is...let's just say not too pleasant in the morning, plus a 4 yr old. And my trail pal has 3 kids. Getting there too early is in the hard to do box.
The real story is we got to the staging area and we stop to contribute alms to the pay box. Here come 3 yahoos in RENTED Rubicons. I tell my pals to hurry and let's go...then they intentionally ensure they blast ahead of us down the trail.
Naturally we catch up to them in no time flat but are able to pass them on the first obstacle. Not because they made any attempt to get out of our way. More because the one guy is intent on trying to crawl a ledge too big for his rental and we just walk by them. My pals politely inform them this is too much trail for their rentals but they hit the ignore button. We get to chewy where we wait and wait (see 1st post) and they show up like 15 min later. They watch for a while and turn around and go home :D
