Trail recommendations for January!

I'm planning on going to Moab sometime in January and need some trail recommendations. I have a '98 Dodge Ram ext. cab short bed on 33" MT's and a 5" lift. The diffs are stock 3.55 and open. I plan on having sliders and better skid plates by then. I want to do as difficult of trails as possible, but don't want to be beating the ever loving hell out of my truck on obstacles I shouldn't be trying. I have the Guide to Moab book by Charles Wells, but he mostly talks about suv's and jeeps, so I don't know if the same applies to fullsize trucks.

So what trails could I do?

Anybody planning a run in January?

Hells Revenge and Finis and things are good

Hells Revenge, Finns and Things, Gemini Bridges, and then if you're up for a little more challenge, maybe try Poison Spider or Gold Bar Rim.

Will you be alone, or with other vehicles?

I'm still trying to find someone to go with or to meet up out there with. If I absolutely can't find anyone, then I won't go out by myself most likely.

I might be ready for a run in Jan by then. I can lead you through hell's revenge and fins n things. I've been wanting to do poison spider and gold bar, but I'd need someone who knew the trail to guide me. What dates are you thinking of?

Quick question: are you driving an automatic or a standard? I may be underestimating your dodge, but the most important mod for wheeling in moab is gears. THe steep stuff is easy if you're geared low, but if not, it can get downright dangerous.

Hell's Revenge, Fins and Things, Top of the World, Poison Spider, Gold Bar, Elephant Hill and trails lower in difficulty should be good. Obvious trails like Pritchett, and maybe Behind the Rocks would probably be out for that rig.

Cliffhanger, Steelbender, and Moab Rim, Metal Masher maybe... (somebody else chime in on those)

I did Hells Revenge with a 3.36 rear axle ratio on 33's and did ok. Could have been better, but not horrible.

Things will be interesting in the fullsize, but add the sliders and skids and you should be ok with most of the above.

Watch the weather forecast as January could leave icy conditions on the slickrock. I had a scary slide last January down the launching pad on Golden Spike. All was well except for the wet seat....but it does make you respect the word "slick rock".
Our club runs most weekends and we select trails in the winter that are right for the conditions. Your full sizey rig isn't really a main concern but being open in the snow with potentially cliffy situations could be worrisome.
We like Kane Creek in the winter, your big truck could be an ice breaker...Seven Mile Rim is good.
If the weather is nice, you can manage Poison Spider, Metal Masher, Hell's Revenge, Fins N Things, Steel Bender.
Watch our website for our January schedule. We likely won't post it until late December.....http://webejeepinmoab.com
