I am looking for some ideas about what trails to run when my friends and I go to moab. The most capable vehicle is a my 1980 toyota locked front and rear with dual cases on 35's ( trail rig) , least capable is a Jeep jk sahara 4dr with 4in lift and 35's tires open axles (DD and his family's only vehicle)..

I am looking for trails that are challenging for me, but has bypasses for him. Any imput would be great thanks.

I have multiple copies of the same book because I always leave them home. Your welcome to borrow a copy of mine as well and I am a little closer to you than Steve is. It can be purchased in Moab a nearly any gas station and is good to have anyway. That being said, you can still borrow mine.

Fins n Things is a Moab classic, there are lots of fun fins to go up and down and there's always an easy way around too.

Got to recommend Hell's Revenge. Has some challenging stuff, yet an open rig can go through almost all of it without problem. I took my daughters XJ with 3" of lift, 31s and open, through it, and did Hell's Gate with it. If he's a good driver you may get him through Poison Spider without too much trouble.

X2 on Hells, my ex JK 4door with the same specs did the trail with ease...infact with that long wb it out performed most sb rigs with a single locking diff.....I never recommend lunch box junk, but if you got smoke em :), try finding one for the front, and you guys should be fine for just about anything.

I've never done metal masher, but I definitely want to. I think golden spike is a MUST for our trip. It's my favorite trail ever, but I've only run it backwards, starting from the gold bar rim side.

a few great ones:
poison spider mesa
hell's
fins n things
gold bar rim
golden spike (does goldbar rim and poison spider mesa)
steelbender

Those are the only ones I've done, but I feel they'd all be fine for the rigs you listed.

sweet these are the ones I was thinking...
does anyone have any experience with area bfe Greenday?

Greenday is cool, it's pretty short though, it has lots of bypasses if needed. I did Strike Ravine and caught Greenday on the way out. I want to say we did Greenday in about 2 hours and most of that was messing around.

Metal Masher would be very doable. Probably need a good spot in a section or two and have the open rig stay away from Widow Maker..

greenday is alot of fun! you can hit lock jaw first then continue on through greenday, coming up the wash on greenday is a blast & has some fun
boulder-ledgey sections. there are plenty of bypases, but it still may be more than what your looking for.

I have done Poison Spider, Hell's Revenge, most of Metal Masher, Mashed Potatoes, and Steel Bender with 33's and open diffs. The JK 4-door has a similar wheelbase so it should be easier on 35's. When are you heading down?
