I am trying to help out a family member with their Jeep. Its a 2000 XJ with the selec-trac transfer case. They need a new transfer case and I had one from a 02 Grand Cherokee. The 02 looks like it will fit and everything swapped over fine except the newer case doesn't have a hole machined in it for the speedometer sensor. I took the messed up XJ one apart to take off the tail housing and found a very big mess inside. The tail section was damaged so I will have to find another case at the junk yard. I thought I would post up what a case looks like when a stretched chain eats up a case. A reminder to service your tcase once in a while. Now I need to go find a 242 case that will fit.
