Anyone here work somewhere that sells Trex decking? Home Depot and Lowes are hit and miss on having enough quantity in stock in the color I want for my my project. Plus I don't know if I want to deal with getting that much home without a trailer long enough to hold it easily. So I am hoping for some delivery as well.

Not sure if it helps or not but I bought mine from home depot, they had to order mine in because it was a special color/style. The price was really good, and the deck turned out awesome. I also used the deck fastening system that does not show screws from the top. Here is a couple pics of mine, notice the lack of screw holes.

Hey Toy, beautiful job. Did you know that the reason they call "floor boards" in a car is that Henry Ford had all his machine parts shipped in wooden boxes that had to be the same size as the floor boards used in his cars? I remember my first 32 Ford the boards had hotted out and you looked down at the pavement. This area was laughingly used for emergency braking.

I'd read that somewhere... OH! I've got my grandfather's copy of the Ford 50th anniversary book they put out in.. 53? It's pretty cool, lots of pictures of "the old way" of doing things: the modelling, the casting, etc.. Years later, I was having some problems with some prints I was doing, super close registration, and remembered that Ford used to do their drafting on aluminum sheets, because they moved less with humidity. So I started printing on aluminum. :D

anyway. Thanks for the trivia Jack! I like hearing stuff like that.

That looks good. Mine will be much simpler :D How are the fastening systems? Hold tight? I was thinking about going that route as well.

The only thing I can add is that when I built my house I had them build the deck out of Trex...that so far has been one of the best investments to the exterior I did. :)

Thanks, it was a PITA to build :D Its going on its 3rd year (summer) and it has not 1 squeak rattle or anything, the decking and the fastener system are espensive but well worth it. I just couldnt stand the thought of spending that much money on the decking and then peppering it with screw holes. If I could do it over I wouldnt change a thing.

I bought at sutherlands. Back then there was only 1 color. 10 years i think and still going. I used the screws that the head breaks off. I heard trex had to pay a class action suit off in the early years. I would reccomend it to everyone.
My 2 centsworth which is worth about 1.3 cents.

Sunroc sells Trex. Call 801-222-3300, Jennifer should answer the phone. Ask to be transferred to Nathan Cranford, he's a field guy that should be able to get you anything you need. Let him know that Devin sent you.
