This is a GREAT school! I've spent $25,000 of my hard earned money (will be for the next 7 years still to come...School loans) to go to school at WyoTech. Now, I'm not saying that it is the best school for what you are trying to learn... However, you MUST take a 6 month Core Program before you can take the Chassis Fab/High Performance Engines, and Hot Rod classes... I learned a TON of good stuff while going to WyoTech... Auto Mechanics, excellent fabrication and welding skills, and that I didn't want to be a mechanic the rest of my life. HOWEVER, would I do it again or suggest it to everyone?, no. I'm going back to school for Engineering. I've decided that unless you are 100% sure that you are going to become a Mechanic, dont go to WyoTech. Go to a school like Hot Rod U, or one of the other "Fabrication" Schools.
The Cost of the School vs. the Skills I've learned, hard to argue that I have learned a wealth of knowledge, but every time I make a payment on my school loans, I wish I would have spent the money on the U of U and started with getting my Engineering degree first.
Here is an option to you if you are seriously thinking about a school like WyoTech: I have all my handouts they gave me in school... (each course has its own 3" 3 ring binder) If you want the Chassis Fab and Hot Rod courses I'll offer making you a copy of them, You would have to pay for the copies and shipping though... There is about 1000 Pages (double sided) between the two courses. You dont get the hands on stuff the school would teach you, but then at least you would have a great resource to look over and start playing around with.
Just let me know...
