Tube door latches?

I am planning on doing some tube doors for my xj soon and am wondering what you guys use for for the latch system. I have a 96 so it is a striker pin vs the loop latch in the 97+ xjs. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Can you post a pic of your striker? I used to have a pre '96 XJ but I can't remember the striker and Google doesn't show any clear pics.

When I built my UTV doors I used used bear claw latches. I'm pretty sure they used a half inch striker. But I'm sure you could find them in different sizes. The open supersmooth close supersmooth and hold the doors

I just took the latch mech out of a set of stock doors welded it to the tube and built a cover plate for the ones I just built, works perfect

A set of CJ or YJ soft door latches may work too... They used similar strikers. I don't know if they are the same size pin though.
