been pondering this for awhile and just can't decide whether or not to build them with a flare built into them or add flares to them.

for example built the with a 3" or so tube flare or add some extended CJ, YJ, TJ flares.

I love tub fenders. If you build them with them extending out an additional 3" I think it might look kinda funny. If you build them and then add extended flares then you would need to be able to remove the flare, and if you make them with removable falres the connection points will need to be located out of harmes way.

Just some thoughts.

I'm struggling with this a little myself.....(I've got other issues to worry about before the flares, but they're in the back of my mind).....

I think I'll do a little of both, 'flare' the fender out from the stock location and build some 'tabs' or something (probably tapped threads or welded on nuts or something) to put a TJ flare on for street use/legality.

I don't know of anyone who has these with the flare. I got the pic off of the poison spyder webstie. I would really like to see these up close as well.

yes similar. I like those a lot.

I just installed a set of those on the boss's TJ, They look very nice and they are really easy to install. You have to come up with a new signal and marker light though (no big deal) I think they are a 2" flare

I want a set of those also, but am wondering if the 3" flare is enough to still be street legal. i was hoping for a 4 1/2 or 5, but I run the 10" wide rims- so i have been thinking about the 8's

Poison Spyder stuff is pretty good stuff, too. I have their rocker gaurds and you can ask several people on here that were at Waynes World last weekend how well they hold up to rocks.... Granted, they are pricy....But it's cheap insurance if you ask me....

I love that Red Rubicon, though.... Looks a lot like mine! :D I need to get me some of them tubed fenders!!!!! I'm also glad to see that 2 of the Rubicons in the world are actually used on the trails! ;)
