Tune Port Injection

So I have this friend that just picked up a 89 350 motor with TPI on it for his 89 chevy truck that has TBI. He is not real interested in the TPI and I was showing some interest in it. However, I would be swaping this TPI on my carbarated motor.
The TPI would include everything, The TPI, New injectors, Complete wiring harness and computer for a 89 comaro, Exhast manifolds with the O2 sensor, etc.

Question is, is it worth the swap? This TPI has the center bolt holes like the older heads have. Do I need to have the TBI/TPI heads? I thought all heads after 89 didn't have the two center holes for the intake...

I could get the TPI for what I think is a good deal, this is just new to me...

Input??

ps,

What do you think this set up would be worth? The motor was advertised as having 40K on the motor and it is super clean.

I think you could end up hitting 1K in misc. stuff really easy. I think it would be better to swap motors. Or go with the 800 dollar EFI kit from Holley.

It will swap on to your heads easily. The bolt holes are at a slightly diferent angle but five minutes with a file will fix that. It is the Vortec Small block heads with the way different intake bolt pattern(they still have center bolts but they go strait down into the head not at an angle. There is no way that you will spend 1000 more to get it running. Not with your bargain hunting skills. I can't think of anything you would need to buy other than a throtle cable, gaskets, and maybe have a chip burned(if your cam is similar to the cammeros and your engine is not too hopped up you probably wont)If you don't want it maybe we could work out a trade for a sweet running Holly Projection :D

I think TPI would be the best 4WD motor from GM......lots of low end torque, decent economy and pretty simple once it's installed.

I can't comment with reliability on the the heads and any other issues. I've only seen them swapped as whole motors
