Two questions

1. Is it possible to use a TJ front driveshaft on my YJ? I realize that the TJ uses a CV style front shaft, but could I disassemble the cv joint and install the TJ shaft?

2. Can I get the knuckles on my d30 redrilled for high steer? What else is involved in doing a high steer?

I have heard of guys using the TJ front shaft because its a CV shaft...dunno whats involved but I have heard of it being done...

What do you mean redrilled??? IMO the best thing to do is get the highsteer knuckle from tera...I have seen a few others do it on the 30 but I think the tera is the best execution...:D

Well I want to flip the tie rod over because it now hits my springs, after putting different spring perches on. I figured that flipping the tie rod ontop of the knuckle will give me the clearance needed.

You've already went too far down the road.........You can get someone to ream out the knuckles for top steer........{I hope you've already got 297 joints in the axles or you're spending more money :D }

Yeah I know, but I just wanted to see what was at the end of the road, awhhh a d44!:D

Yep got the 297's, luckily I have a 95!

The tierod issue is not a big deal, just kinda annoying. I can still steer fine, but every once in a while I feel the tierod catch the spring.

The bigger issue is the driveshaft.

that makes more sence, not really high steer...like Marc described is prolly more accurate, top steer:D,...yes I had it done to mine...was only a few bucks and only a few minutes...I had a guy who used to own Drus automotive (total jeep guy) do mine but he since has closed down and works for some other mechanics shop...I bet any compitent shop could do it (rocklogic Anarchy etc)...

Would I need to get new tierod ends? So the only thing that would need to do would be to have the knuckle reamed?:confused:

Yeah I know suka, I guess that I am just a sucker for punishment. The big issue is not the steering, the big issue is the driveshaft.
