We're still working out the details.

I'll have a list of the trails we're going to run and all the other info posted the first part of March. We'll add some trails over what we've done in the past.

A dinner and bonfire after the trails are going to happen. Bring your own lunch as we usually stop for lunch out on the trails.

I'll be home VERY infrequently during that time so I'm not sure if I can make it, but I'd like to check this area out. It's a long drive for just a day. Are the trails still marked clearly enough (I know there's been a few issues about this :D--again, hat's off to all your work down there) that I can stay on them if I don't have a knowledgeable guide? That and a good map will get me through?

The trails here are still signed and we have maps showing the trails.

When we have our organized rides, we always go out unofficially the next day. if you want to hang around a few days I'm sure there would be someone willing to show you around.

I think that it was Hogg Canyon that we went out on. Rated like a 3.5 or 4 in some spots but, at the end all 14 of us had to winch up a long, steep sandy hill that had a 90degree turn. To make the day complete, wind, rain, sleet, lightning, and even some snow. Got back to town at 10:30. With all that said, I'd do it again.

That would have been one of the Hog Canyon trails. That one we call the Pinnacles/Big Hill trail. We have that trail rated as a 3, but the Big Hill is more like a 4. Some vehicles can get up it with one locker. This trail is still suitable for near stock vehicles, if you can't make the Big Hill, you just get winched. We threw in the rain storm on that trip just to make things more interesting. There are other trails in the same area that are all part of the Hog Canyon trail system and all link to one another. The one most fun is Tom's Canyon which we have rated as a 4, but can be harder with bad weather.

I'll have a list of trails we'll be using for the U4 Spring Ride out soon. We'll use three trails in Hog Canyon, a scenic 2 to 3 rated trail and some difficult 4 1/2 to 5 trail somewhere.

If you're planning on going to this and want a motel room, get you're reservation in soon. There's a chance that all the rooms in Kanab will be booked that weekend. National Greyhound Dog gathering is the same weekend.

I'm working on having a place with plenty of room to camp at the area where we will be meeting. Plus, there are a couple of commercial campgrounds in Kanab. There are no public campgrounds nearby, but I'll make sure we have plenty of camping area available
