Got this when I was surfing, areabfe-banner.swf

Not in that banner... I created it. False positive or your flash player is infected.

edit: and besides, that banner isn't even loaded on the page you are viewing.

What kind of dorky program do you have that scans all that stuff? The first thing I turned off on the new AVG is that stupid active link scanner...what an idiot idea.

If its not loaded how come the program picked it up?

I just wanted to bring it to your attention didn't know if it was something that was a false positive.

That would be Avast! which is pretty good but a little overly cautious at times.

I kept the AVG 8.0 link scanner going mostly because I reinstalled it and forgot to turn it off the second time. It is pretty transparent..... at least on this laptop, but on the other hand it's not really all that useful. I mostly visit benign sites LOL

but some of the Pirate links are evil, so it's not entirely useless I suppose...

You don't think something could be infected locally in your cache and not possibly come directly from RME? There are known issues with old versions of flash player, maybe time to upgrade?
