What about the fact that no cage with bends gets bent MORE along the weak axis of the bend, the way Dewey's example was put? Yeah, you can keep bending a bent tube, but ON the vehicle, that's pretty tough. Think A-pillar bend-- you're bending against the curve, not with it, so the illustration is inapplicable.

Cage hits are either at nodes or along the length of the tube, where the type of junction is irrelevant.

got my seat in has a cool mesh bottom that makes cleaning the seat easier. Got my custom fuse box that is water and dust tight, and got most of the front tube work done.IMG_20130711_144053.jpgIMG_20130711_141007.jpgIMG_20130711_140944.jpgIMG_20130711_135111.jpgIMG_20130711_103707.jpgIMG_20130711_103648.jpgIMG_20130711_101838.jpgIMG_20130711_101826.jpg

I know, that's what I said, and it remains an irrelevant measure of relative strength of bent tube for use a chassis. ;)

I dig those seats. Hurry up and get done so we can have some action shots.

Cool cool I forgot you were leaving the front suspension stock and was wondering if links would be In the way will your front drive line hit oil pan and passenger side exhaust?

yeah the front drive line will be close to the pass. exhaust but im just going to run the small driveline tube to clear and the oil pan it fine it is no where near the front driveline it almost hits the top of the axle but i set the hydro bumps with only 3.5 inches of up travel so it doesnt crunch my oil pan

Fuel cell randomly split the bulk head teflon o-ring inside and the motor leaks water from somewhere inside the bellhousing. needless to say that shut us down as far as racing today goes. So here are some recent pics. Had tom woods do my driveline in the front with 1 3/4 .120 wall tube and it clears the oil pan by about a 1/2 to 3/4s of a inch

now now mitch when you come see the buggy i will show you what i mean, aside from stock horse power numbers its a far surperior engine to the Gm V8s in many ways

Bull SHI#! No Toyota motor comes close to a GM motor. I have had both and a few of each. Toyota = suck!

why exactly is that? ive built both and worked on both also. So why is a toyota V8 not better than a Gm V8 or vise versa

While i agree that alot of toyota motors are not really the best or even close in the case of buggy motors. The 22re is a shat motor especially for speed and the 3.0 is under powered and un refined as is its big brother the 3.4, though the 3.4 is a big improvement. The 1uz-fe is a totally different animal, smooth as butter, no vibrations, meant to rev to 9000 rpms, and handles huge horse power with out the bottom and top ends going out and not much mods are required to get there.

Love my 3.4L. Still running strong, with lots of power. Aaaand 347K

oh totally the 3.4 is a long lasting motor but not really a high reving motor and super smooth was all i was saying, descent power but there are many other V6's that make more power but arent as well built.

How Heavy is your V8 and size dimensions? Compare that to a chevy motor!! Also availability of parts. Have you ever been at a race in a strange town and need parts? Good luck finding toyota junk!
