Nope, couldn't make it this year. I hear the weather has been cold and windy. Not a lot of sun on the lake bed so far.

On the Tuesday video there is footage of Carl driving up backdoor when the other guys are winching or rolling...

Go Team Fred...

it looks miserable cold this year. I thought the wind was bad enough last year... :D

Anyone following this?

Shannon Campbell lost his tranny again... Dean Bulloch was in 10th, now in 21st... he must have broke down as well.

Who are all the locals racing?

I don't see an update here, so Loren won (official) and Lovell second

Currie is still holding everyone up because he has no winch

EDIT:

Why wont the guys that have a winch, pull him out of the way? I swear, he's been blocking the trail for about an hour now....

Congratulations to Carl Nielson and Dusty Sexton! They ran a great race. They did end up DNF on 2 broken Axle shafts, after something close to 100 miles. They went from starting at 83 all the way to 23 before they broke. They had a number of rolls and lay downs before the d60 shafts went. Some people think Carl is hard on body panels, it’s hard to say why they would think that. If you look close you can see tire marks on his hood and lid, and they were straight before the LCQ.

They had on board cameras and a bunch of people caught some great shots, we should see a lot more of them shortly.

On another note, a bunch of guys broke winch ropes. Maybe that was Currie’s problem too. I can’t imagine him starting without one. Also, somebody said Shannon’s crew replaced his tranny in the pit, amazing it only cost him about 2 hours

Here are the shots of the Bronco after the race.

casey curries winch cable was a cable not a rope. It was just a small winch with like the 1/4" cable on it. just a winch to suck down the axle. he tried to use it and SNAP! ;)
