Is a parking ticket worth paying from the friendly UofU parking reich? Will they come after me? Anybody know someone on the inside?

I think they can prevent you from registering the following semester. Regardless, you're parking on their private property so if they show you have a grip of unpaid tickets then they will just tow your car away.

I gave up paying for a parking pass and would just keep recycling parking tickets. I would have to get 11 tickets to pay for a pass, so every time they ticketed me I would just park again someplace convenient and put the ticket back on my windshield. I usually would rack up 8-9 tickets, but I felt like I was sticking it to the man.

And if you don't pay they will hunt you down wherever you go and send hate mail and will even put holds on family members that go to the U until you pay it.

They put a hold on your account and will send you to collections if you don't pay. Eventually it can end up on your credit report.
I used to do what Cody suggested, I would even pay tickets in pennies and nickels! I also moved the parking Nazi's bikes from time to time. That was a riot! Finally I just started parking off campus and either hoofing it or catching TRAX.

And don't forget...... your permanent record

I don't think private parking enforcement can apply tickets to your permanent record if they happen on private property.

I've had a couple tickets at UVSC and SLCC (actually the SLCC was when I let a buddy borrow my car). I never paid them because I wasn't threatened by them trying to hold my transcripts and I don't park down there but once every blue moon. Never shown up on my record after 6-8 years. Had I gone to school at either of those places I would have paid them.

I forgot to mention, I am not, never have been and never will be a student at the U. So I have no problem with them holding any transcripts.

then I wouldn't pay it personally. Usually the first is warning anyway and the rest used to be $10.

You think parking up there is bad now? I went there during the Olympics where 1/2 of the parking lots were being used for tents and event setup, 1/3 was being used for downtown and other event parking and whatever was left the students could use. It was almost as rediculous as baseball.

Dude, I lived on campus during the Olympics. They had kicked us out of the new dorms to make the Olympic Village and stuck us back down in the old ones. Then they take away all the parking so even residents didn't get special parking. It was F'd up!
