Dempsey and I then head to elko to try to find someone who can look at the rig. We find an ex Chrysler mechanic who says the hydraulics are good, and since its simply not disengaging, he thinks it's the pilot bearing wearing into the fingers of the clutch.

So we round up all the parts and the mechanic doesn't have time to fix it tonight
So Turbominivan can't drive his jeep till tomorrow afyernnon. So he will be heading back home tomorrow evening. That sucks because he has been dying.to run this trail for a while.

I see Steve has been keeping you guys updated. Yes, my pressure plate and/or throw out bearing is coming apart, so I'm out of the game. I'll just drive back home tomorrow afternoon. :(

However, since leaving the group I have received word that I'm not the only dropout--Billy has called it and intends to limp home overnight while the temperature is lower. :(

Just thinking......didn't the Donner Party leave the SL valley too late in the season.........didn't they have trouble getting across Nevada..........weren't they high in the Sierra's when an early snow storm hit.
Just thinking.

Wow, that sucks. Here's hoping everybody else makes it onto the trail and back off with no more breakage!

My wife, myself, and fender all made it back safely tonight. What an incredible trip. I think that between me and my brother we have 1500 pictures and about 10 hours of video. I'll put together part of the trip report tomorrow. I hope everyone else made it home safely.

Nice Steve! Glad you guys had a nice trip. Looking forward to the pics and vids!

Billy, I have your tow bar in the back of my truck.

Leaving Wells, we tried to flat tow Billy's waggy behind the trailer. I've done this with a CJ-7, but his waggy was too waggy. Terrible sway at about 50mph. We moved some weight off the back of the waggy on to the trailer. That merely allowed us to go faster before the swaying started. Oh well, we tried.
