THE JOB - URINE TEST
(Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!)
I HAVE TO PASS A URINE TEST FOR MY JOB... AND I AGREE 100%
Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their BUTT, doing drugs, while I work. . .. . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?
I guess we could title the program, 'Urine or You're Out'. Just a thought.

I agree with you. I also think we need to cut way back on the amount of time people can be on welfare and stop paying those people for having more babies. There are people out there that are proud to be 2nd, 3rd, etc generation welfare. Should I mention how much we spend to support illegals too?

Crazy enough do do some good!

I know several people that lost their jobs because of the economy and they sit there and brag about how unemployment will pay their bills (if any) and buy them enough "drugs" to make them happy the whole summer :rolleyes:

Unemployment is not the same thing as welfare. To receive unemployment, you have to have been laid off or quit with good reason. And the money comes from the unemployment insurance fund, which all employers are required to pay into.

I have had the same feeling about having all welfare, medicaid, food stamp, and kind of state assistance recipients pass an annual drug test to be eligible.

Being one of the many that relies on unemployment to pay my bills do to losing my job, I am thankful that it is available. My wife receives medicaid for her and our son because she was getting it when we got married and is now pregnant. Once the baby is born, only the kids will be covered. That is fair, and I'm not complaining. I've paid my taxes, and am constantly looking for employment. But the lazy asshats that spend all their food stamps on beer and junk food instead of taking care of their children makes me sick.

BS, I know for a fact when I was working gas stations in High school, and while my mom was working for a grocery store, people would buy beer with food stamps.

Wasn't trying to start a friggin argument here. I was pointing out reasons why I'm just as sick of people mooching off the system as everyone else.

I understand the difference completely, and admit I was a bit off subject. I was saying that people that don't use it responsibly should not recieve it imo...

When I loose my job I will be really happy to have it too. I don't know what a lot of my friends would be doing right now without it :ugh:
