Yesterday, my wife and I attended the Utah Arts Festival. Security at the entrance was checking bags. I asked them what they were looking for "uh, weapons and stuff".

"Isn't this public property? "

" uh, well, it's a private event"

"on public property, right? "

" uh, it's a private event... "

At this point, I decided to keep my mouth shut and not ruin the evening for my lady. I was also suddenly in need of at least 2 beers, so I let it drop.

Anyway, they're checking bags at the festival. No signs posted, and its clearly public property... unless I'm completely delusional. I didn't realize it was illegal to have a weapon in a bag on public property.

Good thing my wife and I don't carry weapons in bags. ;)

So Jordan, Utah
Weapons, outside food, show of security presence... All pretty much BS.

Sorry you had to go, I try to skip the "hippie" festivals. :D
