I work nights so i stayed updated on it all night and most of the night the count was 20 dead which i thought was pretty bad for a shooting. By the time i went home it had jumped from 20 to 50 and that just blew my mind. I cant even imagine. Everyone i know in vegas turned out to be safe today. My old lady had a roommate that was there and she made out okay. In her fb post she was saying how she had to wash the blood out of her hair.

WTF is wrong with people? I dont want to live on this planet anymore. It seriously make me not want to have any children.

It’s a sad deal for sure. I don’t know why some people are so messed up. But, giving into fear puts the power in the hands of those that want to take your freedom. This is still a wonderful time to be alive! We just have to come together as a society and find ways to help each other. I strongly believe all the media, and political division fuels these atrocities. So many people with a few screws loose watch something on tv, or in a movie, and romanticize it to the point they act it out.

If we have two wolves inside us, and the one we feed takes over, feed the one that represents love and kindness. Be the good in society you want others to be.

I've had to go out of my way to avoid the stories today. I was a witness and fairly active participant in the recovery of a body in a car accident this week. I Used my truck to pull a truck off of a car that had a person trapped inside, who had died from the crash. I have been unable to get the images and thoughts out of my head.
When I saw the story this morning I was devastated. I cannot imagine the lifetime of fear and pain and flashbacks that the concert goers with have to live with. My situation did not put my life at risk like it did for the people in Vegas. I can only imagine how hard it will be for them. I physically could not handle the additional stress of the shooting, and have not watched or read more than just simple updates.

Trying to make sense of something like this will not be possible. A sane person would not do such a thing, so it is nearly impossible for us to understand it.
There are now THOUSANDS of people who will live with PTSD of some sort for the rest of their lives. We cannot change that. However, I do believe that we can do our best to be sensitive and supporting of them, or anyone else we meet, who has been subject to unpleasant situations. The only way to conquer what is happening is through love and compassion.

My driving habits have changed dramatically this week based on my experience.
I have always hated crowds, and often feel unsafe. After yesterday, I doubt I will attend large gatherings in the future. It seems awful silly to let something like this change what events I attend.. but I think I will let it.

If we let these kinds of events change our lives (for the worse, such as changing what events you attend) then the shooter has won. If we choose to pull the positive out of this event, then the shooter loses. I was very impressed with the stories in this article:

I love reading how complete strangers were risking their lives to help others, like the two guys that covered themselves over the two ladies to shield them. I love knowing that, while Americans can fight all day long about such things as "taking a knee", when it really comes down to it, we will stand up and take care of eachother. The shooter proved that again Sunday night and because of that I put America 1 and Shooter 0.

A friend of mine was at the concert had several people around her who were hit. In a video she posted to her facebook you could see a guy on the ground with his wife/girlfriend laying over him with blood on them. I can't imagine what is going to be like for her to get over this.

This was my thoughts on it yesterday morning. The fact that politicians are already trying to make/turn it to politics pisses me off too. Even Killary made a retarded post about it.

I agree with others have said. I take the Boston Bombing as an example. The following year was the biggest turn out of folks showing up in support for the event, and for the others that lost their lives that day. You cannot let an event like this control your life. It is really hard to get out of your mind, but we need to come together.

Hearing the news this morning breaks my heart. Why do people think like this? Why do they feel they need to take innocent lives, and take people from this world this way? Please people, can we come together and stop this madness?

I heard that some are already calling for gun control... Do people not realize that if someone like this wishes to cause harm to another, they will find a way? Anything can be a weapon, this has already been proven with other attacks in this world. Not to diminish from this tragedy, but this is not the answer. You would only limit the good guys from obtaining firearms more. Please [MEDIA] stop making it a gun issue, when it is the person behind the gun that is at fault.

My thoughts and prayers are with those that have been lost in this tragedy, and with their families. May we please come together, and not have this hatred in this world?

As a culture, we have become people of hate.

Just look at the harsh insults thrown around on most any social media site, when any issue no matter how trivial is discussed (RME being a welcome exception.)

When we vilify anyone we disagree with then unthinkable acts of violence become much easier because we no longer see others as individuals with their own hopes, dreams and loved ones.

I also found a quote from a survivor of the attack rather chilling- he described it as being "like a video game"- yes we are training our young to see killing innocent people as something fun and that is done to earn bonus points. This may not really apply to this case, of a 60+year old compulsive gambler, but it is still part of society worth discussing.

Not to take away from what happened there in vegas but now you might also see a soldier coming back from a war torn country and see them in a different lite. THey go thru this same stuff sometimes for months on end. yet people seem to think they can just snap out of it. I have a friend that is still in the Army back in fort sill. I talked to his wife awhile ago and she told me that her husband will come home from a day at the office and sit on the floor looking out the corner of the window. This scares us both! I have known her husband for going on 38 yrs now. How do you talk to someone going thru something like this?

All you can do is show them the love and support. Which this country really needs to step up and start doing!

Agreed. Yet it seems to be all they do. I am truly confused also at the lack of understanding and incompetence that the law makers show when it comes to laws they wish to enact.
For example.. Rep. DeGette who said banning 30rnd magazines would result in fewer magazines in the future because people would shoot the bullets from the ones that they have, and they would be used up..

Until there are REAL statistics and a real understanding of issues, proper legislation can not be written.

I believe the founding fathers purposely made the process of legislation long, arduous, and a pain in the butt. (Assuming they go through the proper channels in Congress, not Executive Orders) It gives time for the emotion to die out. It frustrates me when they cannot pass a bill like Healthcare, but I am also glad the system is set up this way.

Don't forget self interest/personal gain. Big Money Interest drives an awful lot of what can get through the process and signed. There's no blue and red, only green and it ain't Army green...
