I can get a pair of Dana 44s off of a 1990 Wagoneer for a good price. Besides being six lug and needing to change my rims. Are ther any other issues I should be aware of that may cause problems or major expenses? Oh yah, sorry it is a 95 YJ

Thanks for any help.

it would help if we knew what you were intending to put them on.
If it is a YJ, and you are staying spring under, you will have to weld on new spring pads on the rear axle. On the front axle, the spring positioning is of by 1.5 inches. you could either just spread your leaf packs, or move your spring mounts on the frame. If you chosse to just spread the leafs, it will be 3/4 inches per side. You will probably need to fab shock mounts for the front and the rear also. and drivelines, front and rear.

the most expensive mod will be gears... those waggy axles have gear ratios they used to set freaking land speed records, i swear! i got mine regeared to 5.38 with a spool and a locker. you might also want to check out the shafts, ujoints, balljoints and you will probably want manual locking hubs (cheap). you also might want cross-over/histeer, you might have flat top knuckles, you might not. it matters how serious you are.
all in all, waggy axles are cool.
