I used the Derale PWM temp controller for my Electric fan conversion and it seems to be working well.

They should hand out 50 of those radiators, accross the nation and let us stress test them.
What seems to work for one guy, dosesnt for the other.
Looks like a nice radiator though.

The Flow Kooler pump arrived today.
Project cooling system starts this weekend.

Some comparison pics alongside the Napa pump.

Inside and outside the FK pump the casting is alot smoother.

In the packaging was a paper talking about FK now makes copper/brass radiators for the XJ.

I think im into this whole system about $220 . Not bad.

Picked up a thermostat.

Found my leak OR leaks I should say.
Hardly noticed em. I'd have to top off the overflow every other month.
Top corners of the radiator.

Do any of you suggest anything other than the gasket , putting the pump back on (rtv or thread sealant)
???

Somewhat wrapped up and air bled out of the system.
A quick double check on fan/pulley bolts , assemble the rest, should be driving here soon.

There's more clearance than that once the top brace goes on.

So far so good. Test drive did well. Stayed just below 210. I can hear the fan upon takeoff but settles down once in the higher rpms.
Never heard the electric fan come on. It was on alot before.

While I had the XJ apart, I found my next project (motor mounts).

Starting to wonder if my fan relay needs replacing. Temps are good and haven't heard the fan turn on yet but when I turn the A.C. on it's constantly running.
It used to turn on for a few seconds and turn off, repeated.
Should I be concerned about the relay ???

That is by design.

The fan runs when the a/c is on so that you get more air through the condenser to cool you off better. According to my factory service manual;
Fan relay engages when coolant temp reaches "approximately" 218F or when the a/c is requested.

We ran up AF canyon today, went toward Midway then back up Guardsman pass, my temps got slightly over 210. So I placed a "pre order" for one of those fancy Mishimoto AL radiators...
