sign me up if this flies, and when the big oil guys all pool together they will fork out 100's of millions to buy this guys idea and shelve it.

That defies the laws of physics...I call B.S. on his car. It takes a lot of power to split water molecules, more than you get when you put em back together, one of the basic tenants of physics.

I want to see him remove the gas tank, no hybrid stuff. STRAIGHT WATER.

You'd be surprised... I've seen it done and it really didnt take that much. Hydrogen doesnt exactly burn weak either...

Hmmm... Does anyone have any other links to info on this? Seems too good to be true. If he can run 100 miles on 4 ounces of water, why not run the test car on straight water. Why the gas? Innovation is coool.

It could be done with a chemical additive assisting the electrolysis. I have made hydrogen and oxygen hundreds of times and blown it up at least that many, but assuming it isn't a spoof, a chemical/gas/solar/water hybrid car would be cool but I'm sure the repair bill would be rather extreme. also burning ozone and hydrogen causes free radicals I'm sure the greenies will have something to say. not only that but if you think that alcohol isn't good for engines imagine what pure water would do to one.

Does that mean that water will soon be $4/gallon? :ugh:

Cool link, I'd love to see more... and see it take off & change the auto industry.

Ya gotta start somewhere. Id rather run gas with no emmision garbage and spend that money trying to colonize Mars, but I think I'm about the only person that thinks that.

I think a better approach is to stop making cars and only make trucks and jeeps with 4x4 and make it so the only peeple that can own them are people who go trail riding. It would slow the demand and thereby reduce prices - so I'm a little biased. so sue me.

I think alternative energy sources is a great idea. if we can get our houses to stop buring coal we could turn it into gasoline. leave the cars be.

I beleive it could become mainstream in the future... I have seen different "water" fuel systems before and I know the U of U has done some in depth research on the possibilities.

There is a young hippy at the Moab Rock Shop (runs the place for the old man, drives a clean Toy mini-truck). He has a copy of an older water "carb" auto patent... claims it works on similar principles...

Interesting to say the least...

I went to auto school at slcc, and the teacher had some guys/team that was talking to him about some different designs for a engine that would run on any liquid and just a small amount of oil based product examples:eek:il, gas, atf, power steering, just about anything. I worked on it for a couple days and got it running on a table spoon of atf and a bottle of mountain dew code red. No lying, it was just a little briggs and straton engine though.
