When: 12/7/22 6:00 pm
Where: Ensign Peak Trailhead: 1002 N. Ensign Vista Drive, Salt Lake City
What: Evening hike in snow/mud/ice

I estimate total of an hour for the round trip, pictures, and random exploring. I may hike some of the side trails if I feel like wandering farther than just up and back.

Anyone is welcome. Post up if you're coming so I know to look for you in the church parking lot before starting the hike.

Had a great hike to Ensign Peak with my buddy Allen. Just like 2 years ago, it was wet and a little cold, but I had a blast.

I don't know what all was different this time vs last time, but we hiked half a mile less and I burned a lot fewer calories.

Good times watching the snow come in and hiking around.

I need to make sure I throw a head light into my bag. I didn't have one tonight, but didn't need it.

I brought my micro spikes and was estatic that I had them as the ice and snow pack were slick without them.

I'll figure out where to go next week and post up Monday. Snow depth will likely dictate the hike. I'm open to suggestions from anyone that wants to join me.

Cancelling 12/14 due to forecast. I'm getting plenty of steps shoveling snow this week. Looking forward to the 21st.

Next I will be hiking the Industrial Arch Trail in Bountiful. I am expecting to need snow shoes with the recent snow fall, but at a minimum I will have my crampon spikes.

Date: Wednesday 12/21
Meeting place: Tunnel Springs Park, 1080 Eaglepointe Dr, North Salt Lake, UT 84054
Meeting time: 6:00 pm
Duration: I am planning on 2 hours or until I am tired.

More details on the hike can be found here: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/utah/industrial-arch

Post up or message me if you're coming so I know who to look/wait for.

So, with no snow falling and an itch to be outside after a long day at work, I decided to try some new snowshoes out at the East Kaysville Wilderness Park.

It was chilly to start, and construction along the trail made for a $#i++y detour, but it was a great workout in 1.5 miles.

Looking forward to next week already!

I missed last week and last night, but am planning to get out tonight. Plan is 7pm at the East Kaysville Wilderness Park. Heading from the parking lot to Adam's Canyon and back along the BST.

Looking good for next Wednesday to do something closer to SLC.

No definite plan for tonight, but may run up to my family property to snowshoe down to the cabin to put miles on my new gears in my land cruiser, and check snow depth for this weekend. If you're dying to get out and head East of Huntsville, and are up for a late night, let me know and we can figure out when/where to meet.
