my millermatic 250 stopped releasing gas out of the gun, ive traced it back and ive found that the gas solenoid is good, but when i pull the trigger it doesnt get power, is there a relay that could have gone bad? theres a shop that said they would look at it but they are 2 weeks out and want more than the price of brain surgery to look at it

Does Miller put the wiring diagram for the unit on the inside of the lid like Lincoln? If not, google the model and and its wiring diagram, then bust out the ol ohm meter and see what's not getting power.

US Welding down on Redwood is a good repair shop I've used in the past (or atleast they used to be good).

I'm confused... are you not getting gas or wire?

If no gas, check for a leak or tear in your line. If the wire is stick, change out the sheath. If no power, pull the trigger assembly apart and check. The switch could have gone bad or lost a connection.

Make sure the gun cable isn't damaged where it goes into the housing. This is where mine went bad and from tugging the welder around the shop. Its not the best design on these. I replaced mine with a tweeco(sp?) and like it better.

I like that Miller doesn't use the fan motor to generate the 24V in the system unlike Lincoln, so when the fan blows you won't be dead in the water (like my Lincoln left me:( )
