Can this tank be plastic welded or can anything be done to fix it? This was caused when my friends bike fell off a hitch carrier while loading it. It tipped over on to the tongue of his trailer that was parked behind the truck.

Might as well try, right? I learned to plastic weld in collision repair class... it's pretty easy, with the right tools. The repair might look like crap, but if it doesn't leak who cares! There is a chance JB Weld could do it, if not a proper plastic repair ought to do. It may be hard to find the right color to match the tank, but it looks like it's natural plastic... so perhaps not?

Like this one- http://www.eastwood.com/tpo-teo-and...kuMrRSLHPUkppUy1iDvTO-vqF-3DADZg0UaAi7R8P8HAQ

Harbor Freight has a cheap kit that should work long enough to repair it... - http://www.harborfreight.com/80-watt-iron-plastic-welding-kit-60662.html

I actually have the Harbor Freight one. It's welded a couple air boxes, several fenders and one jeep fender flare. Ugly but gets the job done.
