Change of plans. Off the market for now...
Excellent condition fzj80 land cruiser/lx450. 8k lb warn winch, 2.5" OME HD lift, rock rail/sliders, new 33' BFG A/T tires (5), center diff lock switch, oversize battery, rust free, recent complete service (all fluids, including diff, brake, t-case, trans, oil, coolant. New t-stat, fan clutch, master cylinder, and more.) Third row seating. Never smoked in. All records going back to 2003.
I just started a build thread here:

I picked this up from a single lady in Virginia a few years ago, completely stock. This is my fourth 80 series land cruiser, and I was very picky on what I was looking for. All modifications were done within the last 12 months. Cruiser Outfitters installed the lift and checked out the mechanical condition, passed with flying colors. Divinity Auto (premier land cruiser/toyota shop) did full service and mechanical inspection. Starts strong, drives quiet, straight, no smoke, rattles, or squeaks, no drips.
In stock form I was able to pull better than EPA rated MPG's (as high as 16.5 mpg, believe it or not. That is pretty good for these hogs.) Lift and tires has brought it down some.
Modifications since purchase in 2013:
- Replaced battery with oversize farm/truck battery ($275), Nov, 2013
- Divinity auto service: All fluids, thermostat, fan clutch ($1,250), Jan, 2014
- 2.5" Old Man Emu heavy duty lift kit, installed by Cruiser Outfitters ($1,200), Jan, 2015
- Replaced interior dome lights with LED's. Feb, 2015
- Deluxe sliders, Rocky Road Outfitters ($650), May 2015
- (5) new BG Goodrich All Terrain 285/75/16 tires (33") ($1,250), October, 2015
- Warn M8000 winch, new, installed behind front bumper ($750), December, 2015
- Center differential lock switch ($130), January 2016
- New brake master cylinder, rear brake proportioning valve, brake fluid flush ($580), Jan 2016
Things to know about this truck:
-Starts, drives extremely well. No driver fatigue, cruise at 75 mph at 2,400 rpms. Very tight, solid vehicle.
-Being a virginia vehicle, no rust. Makes working underneath it great, no rusted bolts. Was parked in previous owners driveway beneath a pine tree, which left some sap marks on the hood that I haven't figured out how to get off. Not real noticeable, I didn't realize it until after the purchase, but they are there.
- Middle and third row seating in excellent condition. Front seats have usual cracking from age/wear. Wife has the skills, made some tight fitting custom canvas seat covers. Very expedition-esque.
-CD changer stopped working sometime last year. Power antenna does not function (motor works, but cable is broken. Have not gotten around to fixing it, yet, I just leave it up.)
- Passenger front power seat does not move forward. Its where I want it, so it hasn't been an issue to me.
- The lady I bought this from had a brother help her buy it at an auction in 2003. I have all her maintenance records (thick folder) since she purchased it. Between 1999-2002 this truck disappeared off the radar. Supposedly was repo'd by the lender and sat somewhere, but you never know. When it was finally registered again after resurfacing, the reported mileage was a few (less than 100, if I recall) miles LESS than the last reported mileage. I am unsure if this means someone rounded mileage wrong and it really didn't get driven for 3 years, or if some funny business happened, and this was driven by the mob, or something. It does show a clean title. Having owned three previous cruisers, I judged the mechanical condition of this particular vehicle to be in keeping with the reported mileage at time of purchase (125k) so I purchased anyway, and drove it out to Utah. I am very pleased with the condition of this rig.
- I have added some pin-striping along the sides from a few good trails I've enjoyed.
- Comes with factory tow hitch, which I have removed for better departure angle.
-I plan on removing the roof rack prior to sale of vehicle.
- Besides the oil service provided by Divinity, I have done my own oil changes using Mobile1 full synthetic with Mobile1 filters.
This is a great vehicle. No surprises with this one. This is one I planned on keeping forever, and I purchased, modified, and maintained it with that goal in mind. New home and growing family say otherwise...
I have some additional OEM parts that I purchased to redo the cooling system at some point, just as part of good preventative maintenance (new radiator, all hoses, samco silicone phh with constant torque clamps, etc) that I was going to sell separately that would be available at a discounted price if you are interested. I also have a custom rear off-road bumper that is also available if interested (never installed, bought used from a friend.)
Email or text with questions.
Thanks, John
