Well, I've joined all the other boards....

Hey all. My name is Tracy. I currently work for the Sheriff's Dept. here in Mesa County (Grand Junction). So I'm not from Utah, but I can be there in about 15 minutes; to Moab in less than 2 hours.

As the picture displays, I'm running a '94 Jeep Wrangler YJ. With a SOA consisting of Rubicon springs with a 1.5" lift, a 2" body lift, and 1.5" lift shackles, I'm currently running about 11" of lift over stock. All that and only 35" MTR's. Once I get a little time to work on the rig, it will be dropped approx. 3-5" but still be able to run 40" tires without additional alterations.

Engine is the stock 4.0 L. No mods done yet. Maybe a K&N at a later date. Plenty of torque, but a little lacking in the HP dept...may have to do something about this as the tires get bigger. Backing that up is the stock AX-15 tranny. T-case operations are handled by a Atlas II with a 4.3:1 ratio.

Axles...talk about a odd pair here. In the rear, fresh from the factory 2 years ago, a Rockcrusher HP60. 35 spline alloys, 4.56 gears, Detroit...all the goodies. Up front, stock 30...now you know why I haven't upgraded the tire size yet.:D I installed an Aussie locker in it which made a world of difference, and upgraded to the 297 ujoint and fortunately have only broken 1 shaft since.

Still running leafs on all four corners. I believe in the old adage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The RE springs work great, were very reasonable in price and flex like crazy. Plus the reverse eye and extended mount pads have cut down on axle wrap. I don't run a trac bar, and fortunately haven't needed one yet. Dampening is handled by a set of 4 Rancho 9000's.

Wheels and shoes consist of some Pro Comp steelies that I picked up from 4WP back in '04 for approx. $45/each. They get beat to hell, so I didn't see the point in spending mucho dinero on some nice rims. Besides, I have a complete set of Mickey Thompson rims sitting in the garage that look brand new if I want to go to a show n shine.

Just in case my vehicle that goes anywhere, can't quite make it there & back, I've got my trusty Warn 9000XDI winch mounted in an ARB Bull Bar Bumper up front. I apparently won a new 9.5K winch at the EJS raffle this year, but my buddy in Moab is holding it hostage until I can get down there with a winch rope (thanks, GREENJEEP:hickey:).

Other than Moab, I haven't done any other trails in Utah. Some of my favorites include Hell's Revenge, Steelbender, Golden Spike, Kane Creek. I don't think I have ever had a bad run down there, regardless of what trail I have done. However, since I live in western CO., I like to wheel 21 road (on almost a weekly basis), Billings Canyon, Coal Creek Canyon, Holy Cross, most the trails in Montrose, and for when I need a break...the San Juans for the scenery.

Well, that's about it. Hope to meet some new people out there on the trails. Thanks for taking a look.
