You're right.........to a certain degree. Let's discuss this offline and let this thread go on......You've got PM

pm?? no pm - anyway your opinions just sparked something in me thats all, Mebe it'z cuz i had to give up my lurking ways to respond. I didn't realize how much I wrote there :D

I do agree that bypasses on certain trails are a degredation to the trail, obviously when illigal. A trail over slickrock domes on the other hand with a perfectly good easier route just to the side of the primary obstacle (so long it doesn't run over any crypto or endangered desert tortoises) ???. Yeah they (us bypass takers) don't deserve the same level of bragging rights (as you obsticle crawlers) I suppose, and on the other hand bragging is just pride, thats a whole other topic....

In keeping with the thread, this discussion reminds me of when Porshe took thier new suv on HR to test it out....

look what i can do!!
does anyone get my point here??

this isnt about concoring a trail, its the right to be on it!!!
maybe built rigs are the ones doing the damage, by building obsticles...

yeah i'm the one doing all the hard crap in my rig bu i dont bitch about a new guy in his stock rig...after all everyone started there!!

all trails have a different origins i'm sure!!, some were built to be hard..................Some were built by stock rigs and were easy, then bigger built rigs came allong and went off trail and built obsticles, then some other dude who doesnt know the original trail comes along and bitches about the bypasses!!!

i feel if i can run a trail in whatever as long as i dont go off the existing trail then i have done nothing wrong!! the problen lies in the people who do go off trail!!

i say do what ever trail you can, just stay on the trail..

Nope.

You don't have a right to pollute the environment by taking a group of ugly ill-prepared VW's through Hell's Revenge.

:D

EZ
VW, if i had to drive a vw i'd shoot myself...

if anything i leave trails cleaner than they were before i got there, infact i have even offered many times to haul sky off the trail!! now that is pollution in need of cleaning!!

It's apparent that many do not understand your point. I understand it quite well. Even though I've now have a semi "prepared" rig (I believe this term was used earlier), I would be one of this sissy-asses to take my truck on the bypasses. I guess I agree with Blaze. The bottom line is to be out in the back country, respecting the environment, while at the same time have a great time with those that share the same philosophy of wheelin. It's great too since I can always watch some ultra built rig take on obstacles I would never dare, which makes wheelin more entertaining for me.

I propose a ride in the van. Maybe Simon can dispell many non-believers when it comes to the wheelin capabilities of THE VAN. I admit, I myself thought, "A van....wheelin???"
