What battery do you run?

So I just went through yet another Optima in my buggy. SO, I need to get another battery. It needs to take vibration since it's in a buggy and its in the passenger compartment so it needs to be a sealed dry or gel cell. Since this is the third optima I have been through, I'm kinda weary of getting another. Whatcha run, how long have you run it, and how much did it cost you then/now? Looking for ideas.

Hmm, curious on this one too. I've had 5 optima's and have had a good run with them. I know they are not perfect. I have had some last 3 years and others 8!

I think my redtop is on it's way out as well. It doesn't crank like it used to. I'm sure this extreme cold doesn't help, but it still shouldn't be struggling like it does when it's parked in the garage all night. I'm interested to hear what people are recommending.

Optima Red & Yellow in my Cruiser, yellow is almost 10 years ole, red it 4 years old but the original red was put in another Cruiser I own. Obviously I've been pleased with my results but am well aware with the fact there are some real hit/miss issues with Optimas. I know this has been hashed out on the forums over the years but it seems there are some production related changes over the years that have resulted in the varied quality?

Odyssey metal jackets (1200's) in my Tacoma, this was before Sears started rebadging them as their Die Hard Platinum, moot point though as they don't make the high performance metal jacket ones in the Die Hard version. But if you need a compact battery with great output, these rocks. I was able to put two of them in the space of one larger group battery.

I have a 6 year old red top in mine. I have not seen the odyssey's in action, what model number are you running Kurt? The 680? (MJ)

I have had a bunch of optimas too. I bought a blue top that lasted a year and 4 wheel parts warrantied it, but then it took a crap about a year later and they refused to warranty it again. Had a yellow top that made it just outside of warranty and a red top that did the same too. This last red top that finally died on me, was 13 years old, which from what I understand was from back when they used to be good.. Then they changed something and they wouldn't take a charge or stay charged. So, I figure I should maybe try something else out. I know I can always go get a optima, but has the quality come back "up" on them? Is anyone a dealer for the odyssey's around here?

Yellow Optima. Going on 5 years. Drained it completely once a few years back, but have never had any issues. Since the jeep sits on the side of my house 95% of the time, I try to make a point to start it up and run it for 10 min or so at least once a month to keep the battery from draining again. At this point my next battery would be another Optima.

I had a knock of optima from Checker that lasted 8-9 years. It was right around $100 then, but just last week when I went to replace they are now only about $10 less than an optima.
